Bournemouth beach guide and where to go
Bournemouth is on the south coast of England and is a beautiful coastal resort stretching for 95 miles, full of many golden sandy beaches, sandy clay cliffs and crystal clean seas.
Until the 19th Century, Bournemouth was a heathland area until Lewis Tregonwell visited in 1810 and started to expand the area and by 1836 Sir George Tapps-Gervis created a seaside resort. Due to the increase in popularity of the rich and middle classes visiting the area, Bournemouth grew substantially into one of Britain's premier seaside destinations.
You can find lots of entertainment at Bournemouth Pier with its amusement arcade, theatre and boat trips along the beach. You can even relax in its Café!
If you´re visiting at the end of May during the Bank Holiday weekend, you can enjoy all the fun of the Bournemouth 7s Festival which is the largest sport and music festival in the world.
