Bournemouth Beach Guide

Bournemouth is on the south coast of England and is a beautiful coastal resort stretching for 95 miles, full of many golden sandy beaches, sandy clay cliffs and crystal clean seas.

Until the 19th Century, Bournemouth was a heathland area until Lewis Tregonwell visited in 1810 and started to expand the area and by 1836 Sir George Tapps-Gervis created a seaside resort. Due to the increase in popularity of the rich and middle classes visiting the area, Bournemouth grew substantially into one of Britain's premier seaside destinations.

You can find lots of entertainment at Bournemouth Pier with its amusement arcade, theatre and boat trips along the beach. You can even relax in its Café!

If you´re visiting at the end of May during the Bank Holiday weekend, you can enjoy all the fun of the Bournemouth 7s Festival which is the largest sport and music festival in the world.

If you enjoy being outdoors and exploring the Wildlife, then Bournemouth has aplenty! With over 100 parks and 10 nature reserves, you will be sure to enjoy spotting all of its hundreds of different species and fauna and flora.

Bournemouth has everything you love to see at the beach. You will find many stunning beaches to explore in Bournemouth, including Durley Chine Beach, Alum Chine Beach, Boscombe Beach, Southbourne beach and many more.

PROS

Nice long sandy beaches

Summer Weather can be really good

CONS

There can be quite a buildup of traffic during peak season as it is a popular seaside resort

We used the ‘little red hut’ and the location, everything inside the hut, the closeness of car park and other facilities like toilet, bar, restaurant and food was totally perfect. The owner let us and was great also. Will be booking again ASAP

Little Red Hut

Very well equipped with loads of little extras required

Hut 66

The beach hut really added to our family weekend. We loved it, thank you very much!

Groyne View (NO. 289)

The hut was located in a relatively quiet area of the beach and close to all good facilities. The hut was well equipped and comfortable. The owners were welcoming and very accommodating. Overall a pleasant two week experience.

241 Durley Chine Bournemouth

Well worth the money paid. Plenty of accessories within the hut for kids to play with. Only down side possible is that the chairs are looking dated and could be replaced. Will def look to rebook this next year
