Clean, immaculately presented 1960s beach hut, situated by the boating lake, a few paces from the Blue Flag beaches. Fully equipped with everything you'll need for a relaxing day beside the seaside including: gas hob, crockery, cutlery, kettle, deckchairs, sun loungers, table, fishing equipment, parasols, kids toys plus extra luxuries.


In June 2026, Dovercourt Bay was described as "an underrated gem" by Essex Live, and awarded a five star review.

We had a lovely family day at the beach hut on Father’s Day. It’s a good location, close to everything you need for a day at the coast. Things are a bit dated but very clean. Had a little bit of trouble locating it but called Ross and then found it easily enough. You can’t park right outside as I thought but down below the grass bank at the back of the hut. But it was all very straightforward once you know. We’d go back.

The owner, Ross was very helpful and communication was great. Hut is well positioned near Park, swimming pool and boating lake. There is a lovely cafe, The Rainbow Cafe a short walk away. Access to toilet at rugby club was helpful and there's water nearby. Hut is quite dated but still a lovely Hut with lots of equipment including crockery, toys, great sun loungers and a kettle! Thank you

Love that you can get in to the hut early(8am) and leave late. Nice to make the most of the day when you’ve travelled a couple of hours to get there. Everything is really convenient…loos,water tap,kids park,free parking,green space. The town is worth a look round and lovely walks in the nature reserve that goes on for miles.

Everything you need and lovely and clean. Great location (worth noting it’s not an unobstructed view to the beach if that’s important to you) but super close. Lots of amenities nearby. Great communication from host. Thank you.

Please with the hut which had a lot of useful things. Disappointed suit h the beach but other facilities were good. Please to have access to a private toilet. Unfortunately the weather was a little cold and wet.

Dear Prudence is siituated just off of Low Road Dovercourt, opposite Dovercourt Leisure centre and boating lake. The official address is: Hut 66 Dovercourt Bay West End Essex  CO12 3ST Access by road is via the A120. Follow the signs for Award Beach. By rail the nearest station is Dovercourt, served by mainline trains from London and Ipswich. Bus services are available from Colchester, Clacton and Ipswich.
