Overview

A contemporary and well-kept beach hut, perfectly located in a beautiful part of the dog-friendly section of the beach. Hut 102 is halfway along the row of beach huts at Wells, arguably in the best position, with nearby step access, away from the narrower, often crowded, section, yet in a beautiful sheltered spot with great views across the sands. For the latest availability please see the calendar.  The hut is very popular so please book early to avoid disappointment. 

Terms and conditions apply for this booking and you will be sent a copy of these on confirmation of booking,  These include a requirement to leave the beach hut clean and tidy after use and to comply with Holkham Estate's rules of the beach. In making a booking, you are accepting the terms and conditions below:-

CONDITIONS OF HIRE.

  • Beach huts at Wells cannot be used for overnight accommodation under any circumstances.
  • The person making the booking is responsible for the beach hut and must accompany the party, and be over the age of 18. A booking may be refused without giving any reason.
  • Whilst unlikely, it may be necessary to make changes to your rental and reserve the right to do so.  
  • If the beach hut is unavailable due to events beyond the owner's control (e.g. storm damage or vandalism), they will advise you of the problem as soon as possible and fully refund your money – responsibility is not accepted for any further claims.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Please ensure the hut and all contents are left clean and tidy at the end of your stay and report any breakages or defects. Guests are relied upon to clean the hut between hire periods and leave everything as found.
  • You may be liable for any damage caused to the property during your rental beyond reasonable ‘wear and tear’.   
  • The lighting of matches, candles, fires or barbeques near the beach hut is strictly prohibited.
  • The lease states guests must not to do anything which might cause annoyance, inconvenience, disturbance or damage to the owners or occupiers of other huts or other beach users.  
  • No radios/cd players allowed at any of the huts.

We had a wonderful time at the hut with our family, 2 grandparents, 2 adults and a 6 year old. It was nice to have a base and the hut provided all the chairs, wind breaker and toys we needed. The host provided excellent details with access information. Would definitely recommend.

Great hut of you want a special beach visit. We were there on a particularly hot day and the beach hut remained cool. It was great to have access to hot drink making facilities and somewhere to get changed, eat lunch and keep our belongings safe and out of the sun.

Facilities information

Wells Beach is truly outstanding, with golden sands, fabulous views and great facilities. Awarded "British Beach of the Year 2016" in the Sunday Times, the hut is the perfect way to enjoy the beach at its best.  Refurbished in 2022, the hut is comprehensively kitted out for your day at the beach, whatever the weather. Inside there's a fitted table for four, a single gas ring and kettle to boil water, and a cupboard full of the crockery and cutlery you'll need for a picnic. Tea and coffee are provided.  Cleverly stored away are a selection of deck chairs, windbreaks, and beach toys.

The beach hut is available all year round, though cannot be used for overnight stays under any circumstances.  The availability times are restricted to the car park opening times published by Holkham Estate. 

BEACH FACILITIES

  • Cold water can be found in the taps near steps or adjacent the toilet block.  A water container is provided in the beach hut. 
  • Year-round toilets are located in the building in the pinewoods. There are further facilities including toilets, dog wash and café at the main car park.  

DOGS

  • The hut is in the dog-friendly section of the beach, and are welcome at the hut.  A dog bowl is provided.

Arrival information & directions

If you arrive on the harbour railway, walk towards the Beach Car Park.  From the Beach Car Park, head across the car park (away from the café) to the far corner.  There are steps to the beach from there, but you will find it easier if you go through the gate and follow the path into the pine woods. The boating lake is on your left, and at the fork in the path head right.  After a hundred yards, there is a second set of steps heading up to the beach. Take these up and over onto the beach.  When you are on the beach, turn left and walk along the row of huts.  No 102 is not far along.
