Overview

Book this iconic Southwold beach hut with glazed doors and a veranda from where you can enjoy the sunshine and sea views. The hut is situated on the promenade immediately next to the famous award-winning Southwold Pier building. The hut is on the end of an exclusive unique quiet row of just 7 beach huts.

Inside the wooden beach hut is cheerfully decorated in a quintessential English seaside theme, a cosy tiny home away from home, somewhere to spend quality time by the sea, swimming, picnicking, snuggling up with a book, watching the world go by, taking in the rays, big blue skies, the sound of the sea's soothing waves, or simply to take shelter from the sun or the wind.

MAXIMUM of *6 persons including children * Local authority rules and beach hut association guidelines.

The hut is equipped with

  • One wooden dining table
  • Two wooden folding portable tables
  • Four director-style chairs
  • Two deck chairs

Approximately 10 small concrete steps down to the sandy beach are located at the side/front of the hut. There is also a wide concrete ramp to the beach. Please note there are now metal safety railings fitted at the front of the hut area on the promenade, therefore no longer a sheer drop down to the beach, this is not shown in the photographs.

The hut is situated a stone's throw from various amenities including

  • The pier, includes cafes, takeaways including fish and chips, restaurant, retail, ice creams and amusements
  • Pitch and putt cafe and takeaway
  • Ice cream kiosk
  • Crazy golf
  • A boating lake and traditional tea rooms
  • Pay and display car park
  • Toilet facilities including a disabled toilet and baby changing are situated directly behind the hut

A 10-minute walk along the promenade or the adjacent path will take you to the centre of Southwold's popular unspoilt seaside town with its bustling high-street independent shops, delis, bakeries, butcher, mini supermarkets, pubs, wine bar, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, museums, lighthouse and Adnams Brewery.

Dogs are always welcome in the hut and on the promenade however, due to local council rules not on the section of the beach immediately in front of the huts from April to October. However, dogs are allowed all year round on the beach north and south of where the huts end. There is also a lovely dog walk behind the huts and beyond the car park, over the marshes.

Jabba is an award-winning hut voted Top Ten Beach Huts UK, also runner-up in 'Love Your Hut' and has appeared in 'Coast' Magazine. Appeared with Fred Sirieix on a TV commercial for Visit East of England. Featured in The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, Britain's Best Beach Huts. Plus many more.

My friends & I spent the most amazing day at Jabba the Beach Hut. The thought & consideration that has gone into making this the most comfortable & enjoyable experience is second to none, from the thoughtful welcome tea, coffee, hot chocolate and dog biscuits, to the selection of chairs & recliners, blankets & games. We even had a bottle of Prosecco!! I honestly could not think of anything that could be added to enhance what was quite simply the best beach hut experience I have ever had! ❤️

We had a wonderful time at JABBA. It has everything needed for a lovely day at the beach. It’s perfectly located, close to all necessary amenities, making it great for those with mobility issues. Would definitely book again!

JustineC

Fantastic beach hut, lovely location. Instragm photos suggest there are no railings and it goes straight out onto the beach however it doesn’t. Not a problem we just had small children with us.

LR

Great location on Southwold beach (near the loos too!) and nearly a private beach as not too many passing promenades! The hut was very nicely equipped - comfy beach chairs.
