Sandbanks, Poole. No. 55, first floor with balcony, Sandbanks Beach

The beach hut is situated end of terrace first (upper) floor above the main promenade in an ideal location and offers both privacy and unobstructed panoramic views of the sun, beach, sea from Bournemouth, to the Isle of Wight, to Old Harry rocks at Studland. Easy access footpath to the council owned (charges apply) car park at the rear. There are 2 glazed doors at the front of the hut opening onto a private balcony that has metal railings for child and dog safety. It is located less than 100 meters from the all-year-round dog beach. Dogs are welcome on all beaches from 1 October to 30 April but must be kept on a lead while on the promenade.

The beach hut offers a small kitchen/storage facility, though no electricity. The gas camping stove is provided along with a kettle, pans, plastic plates, cups, and cutlery,  a fold-up table, 3 fold-up chairs, cleaning materials, waste bin, brush, and a first aid kit.

Free drinking water standpipe is 30 meters away.

This beach hut was fantastic value for money and really made a difference in having a better day out, enjoying food without the side of sand granules and being able to rest in the shade using the comfortable chairs that are available to guests. Thank you!

Facilities information

There is a cash point machine situated on the outside wall of the Council Beach Office on the promenade along with a nearby restaurant and snack bar. There are plenty of waste bins that are emptied daily. Sporting events are often held during the summer season including Beach Volley Ball and Beach Polo. There is Rick Steins restaurant on the other side of the rear public car park approximately 100 meters behind the beach hut along with a coffee shop other small shops selling items for the beach.

There is also passenger and car ferry access to Studland. There are ferry and bus to Poole Quay, trips around the harbour (including open top bus tours) and onto Brownsea Island (National Trust).

The beach hut can be easily accessed directly from a very short footpath located approximately a third the way up of the top Sandbanks public carpark.

On-site pay and display council run car parking facilities, along with free toilets, showers and concession restaurant(s). Council beach office less than 100 meters away, RNLI lifeguards on duty during the summer season, standpipes for drinking water nearest 30 metres away. All year dog beach 100 meters away. Regular buses from Poole Town Centre that also do the Jurassic open top bus tour and to Bournemouth and Swanage.

Chain Ferry to Studland beach within walking distance.

THERE IS A VERY FREQUENT 30 mph MOBILE SPEED CAMERA VAN THAT HIDES ON SANDBANKS ROAD AS YOU COME DOWN EVENING HILL FROM POOLE TO SANDBANKS!.
